InstaStyle: Pastels, A Love/Hate Relationship

I have a love/hate relationship with pastels.  On the one hand, I find them very annoying when used in home decor (avoiding them at all costs).  On the other, I find them the most universal pallette to utilize when looking for pieces that truly transcend the seasons.  Pastels are as relevant in colder climes, in a baby pink wool winter coat, for example,  as they are in a summertime striped, pleated vintage sundress like this one…  They also work on a variety of skin tones.  Not too harsh for the fair-skinned, while accentuating a deep golden tan.  So, maybe it’s a love thing, after all…

I styled this look with a vintage tilt hat that I got for my future date to the Derby… isn’t it fantastic?
